So, I have been trying to get WinPoint working on my 64 bit windows, to

There shouldn't be any problems running it on 64-Bit Windows. If you
could tell us what the problems are, perhaps we could help?

it crashes on startup due to likely multiple installation attempts. MSG button is greyed out. Attempt to poll does not work.

I am using winpoint on my 32 bit machine and it works, just means I have to use my TCP/IP KVM to use it.

The problem is that I have the underling impulse to want to fix it and make it do what I want.

Man this gets hard on the head after a while.

    What is KVM?

    It's a switch= Keyboard Video and mouse.

You can select other pc's and use them with your current computer.
Uses TCP/IP for transport instead of wires.

Sorry I could not find WinPoint on the BBS.

My problem after installing 4.07 on my fresh Windows 10 64 bit machine
is that it keeps wanting 2: for the first addressing while writing a
letter and it does not go out.

NOW it comes up with "List Index out of bounds:
    Language is German.

Could someone punt this one to WinPoint for me.

I am in a BBS editor (Doc's Place). Will ask him for Winpoint.

I'm assuming that his address is a zone 1 address but WinPoint seems to think that it's a zone 2 address. How is THAT possible?????

However, I seem to recall him saying something in another post about a blank black screen preventing him from doing anything at all. Perhaps his problems are being caused by the KVM switch that he's using??

This problem has dragged on for that long now that I'm not sure who said what, when and where. In other words, I've lost the plot! :-((

That was indeed once a bug. But I keep having the impression the problems are reported for random old versions.

Oh my. I sometimes really have a hard time figuring out what people complain about.

To my knowledge, all non-minor issues are fixed (and most of the software is fully localized in englisch).

No longer using a kvm, it is working on my main computer a 64 bit machine.

The faults I described to you still exist from time to time.
