Episode 396 - Jordan Makower - WA2BRVJordan Makower, WA2BRV, was first licensed as an adult and young teacher, "elmered" by a student whose high school radio club needed a faculty trustee. Jordan spent his career influencing kids in the sciences as well as supporting their amateur radio interests. Now retired, Jordan is a frequent contributor to the K9YA Telegraph magazine, telling his own ham radio stories. WA2BRV is my QSO Today.

Greatest challenge facing amateur radio now: getting people
to "communicate" is our human challenge

Excited most by: exploration of digital modes, getting the next soul to answer my CQ.

Advice to new or returning hams: Get a good antenna, a beam that you can rotate to send and receive a signal.
