Scott Ritter is an American who gradually turned from an extremely patriotic soldier into an extremely pro-Russia figure.

How did that happen?

Scott Ritter started his career as a soldier in the United States Army in 1980. He became an information officer in the First Iraq War.

When that war was over, he became a weapons inspector who went in search of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

At the time, he was involved in espionage for and by the UK and Israel.

From 2001 to 2011, he was arrested twice for soliciting online what he believed to be young girls under the age of 16. In 2011 he was also convicted for this and received a prison sentence of five and a half years. He was released after two and a half years.

Partly because of this, he got into a 'battle' with the American authorities. That got worse when he gradually (rightly) thought that the reasons for the Second Iraq War were complete bullshit.

After serving two and a half years in prison for the US, he became someone with whom the authorities no longer wanted to do business and since he had to make a living from something, he found contact with Russia.

He became an agent for Russia and was regularly featured by RT and other Russian media companies for a fee.

After 2014 he defended the Russian position on Ukraine and liked to use the fact that he had once been an officer analyst in the US army. That fact earned him due credit in ultra-straight circles.

Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Scott has regularly reported how well the war is going for Russia and how it is impossible for Ukraine to ever win this war.

His predictions have not come true time and time again and if you look at what the man is doing from a distance, it is actually a pretty sad story. A failed soldier/businessman who sells his soul to the devil just to make some money.

In the meantime, thanks to his pro-Russia position, he is a big earner, because he is extremely popular in ultra-right circles. People like to believe his nonsense and it is precisely because of his pro-Russian approach that he has become a famous American.

Virtually nothing came of his pro-Russian predictions about the war in Ukraine. In ultra-right circles that doesn't matter, because their truth is one big lie anyway. Apparently they like it that way. The fact that the man is a convicted pedophile is apparently of little concern to them. They keep talking about the fact that the democratic camp is full of pedophiles, but when push comes to shove, they'd rather have a lying convicted pedophile in their midst than face the reality of the real situation.

I've not heard anyone claim that Russian is doing well or that they are
right in their fight, except Russian authorities interviewed on the news.
I doubt the Russians care if he is a paedo, so long as he says what he
wants them to.
