• DMA in Europe

EU pioneered the need of user privacy by GDPR and the world followed with own regulations.. successful or not, EU continues pioneering new digital legislation called DMA, which is aimed at big guys in tech to open up their platforms for more choice.

Do you think it can become successful, or blatant?

I hope the former, but suspect that US companies (like Apple and Microsoft) will find ways around it. I know they've found ways around the US Government's attempts in the past. The EU penalties often have more teeth, though.

This sounds interesting to me, but I don't know what you mean by DMA.

I googled it but google sucks. What does DMA mean in this case?

    Which big guys? Which platforms?

    Thanks for the link.

I like the way it sounds. I don't like how Google, Facebook, and Apple integrate with other "team players." They currently have the power (especially Google and Apple) to choose what every smartphone user in the world has easy access to, and Google is the worst offender.

The Google Play Store & Apple App Store can make or break small businesses, and I hate that. Google & Apple didn't invent the cellphone, and even if they did, they still don't deserve all the power that they have over consumers.

Google "DMA EU" and you'll find a ton of information.
