Some of my American friends got all worked-up over our "socialized medicine" and how bad it is...

Strange isn't it? They have no idea what it's all about -- until the day that they get a six digit hospital bill, and then it's all too late.

My wife's hospital treatment included an ECMO hospital air plane transport 500km across Sweden. Add to that 42 days of ICU.

Total cost SEK300 (EUR30 I think) for an appointment that she missed because she was dead and therefore didn't cancel in time. Other than that I don't remember any other bills coming in. But then again, I wasn't really myself by the time... :(

They *know* that it's their freedom that they pay for. I still haven't figured it out yet, but that's what they've been saying for decades.

Alas, my freedom seems to cost me just a fraction of what it costs those friends of his. But then again, my government doesn't waste half of our budget on offensive weapons -- we try to keep it down to defensive ditto. Has worked for more than two centuries for Sweden...

Just mentioning that the bills have come in for my wife's and mine
Covid19 hospitalisation of close to 2 weeks...

After the health care system has had its say, we have to pay 219 Euro
for the both of us.

Far too much! Trump has freed the American people from having to pay
those outlandish prices by getting rid of the postal service. See how
that works? Can't sell drugs that people can't get. The man is genius,

I collect these from the local pharmacy (drug store?) - no postal service required.
