    Hello Ed,

I'm selebrating 30 years of providing Fidonet BBS access since 1st foing
online in 1991. Traffic is hardly existant but a few faithful callers
are keeping Doc's Place BBS online. It's hard to believe it's been 30
    years!

That is what you call hardliners! 30 years of logging on to the same
    bbs! Every day! Wow!

bbs.docsplace.org or bbs.fidosysop.org I'll leave the light on for
    y'all! :)

Forgot to say, special thanks to Janis Kracht for her super reliable backbone feed. Beat mais hub sing Ross Cassell threw in the hat!

Janis has always been helpful. Not only to sysops, but also to
others who are not (still on probationary status). Would like to
see more sysops as dedicated as her, you, Björn, Tommi, and too
many others to mention. I know they are out there.

OMG! Did Ross C. really kick the bucket? If so, may he RIP.
And let's not forget about Wayne C. What stories he could tell.
All true, as nobody could make anything up like that.

Congratulations for providing access to so many for such a long time.
Truly appreciated by all, except perhaps one or two who did not know
    any better.

Everything in life comes in terms of three - birth/life/afterlife.
Getting past the first two parts is the easiest. The third part is
a bit dicey, but everybody gets there. One way or another.

A university professor in Australia did just that a few years ago.
When he retired he left the light on for his students to run as sysops
of his board. I do not recall him using a password, as anyone could
log on as if it was public domain.

It would have been a dream for Wayne C., as Ross C. would never
have been able to figure out where he was posting from.

Now if only somebody could find him and invite him to come in
from the cold. Just think what new stories he could tell ...
