I've been planning it for many years now, and have started several times. I just don't know if I'll find the time to ever land it. RSN...

Here's an idea - quit worrying about the effin Nodelist. Voila! Plenty
of time to finish a simple project like that.

    You're welcome.

Stas M has something in place that searches all connected echos
for matching strings. The system could work in FNEWS_PUBLISH if
there is a healthy retention of the posts.

That shows your competence level. Searching 2500 files via a web or other GUI interface is not as easy, as someone who knows nothing about programming may think.

That echo was created by me and only covers the issues from my term as editor. The full archive is on my server at eljaco.se and mirrored on fidonews.eu (exact links in the end of each issue).

The INPU*.* files contain the different individual files that makes up an issue, but that too is my invention and only covers October 2004 and later (943 issues ATM).

How would you know anything about what I know about programming?
    Seriously, how?

Here's a free clue: Whether it's done from a GUI or not makes
absolutely no difference in the difficulty level.

You're right. That is a job for a stable genius, such as Donald Trump.
