Quoting Carol Shenkenberger to Jim Weller <=-

Yes, I too like some meat with my dishes but not fanatic to
have it ... just made a decent bean pot (with) 'Dry Salami from
Milan' (and) 2 goya ham packets ... a bit less than a ounce
    meat per bowl.

With really great salami and a little bouillon powder one ounce is
enough to give the beans a great flavour.

Tonight we too had a bean supper: pinto beans boiled a couple
nights ago, leftover shredded sirloin tip pot roast, pot roast gravy
augmented with some bean cooking juice, water, beef bouillon, soy and
wooster sauce together with chopped and fried onion and leeks. The
seasonings were black pepper and the last of our fresh thyme and
rosemary from the garden. It turned out great.

    Cheers

    Jim
