Call me weird but I love grits. Especially with salted butter and
    freshly ground black pepper!

I'd eat these in a heartbeat:

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

    Additional cheese; optional

Notes: From Bobbie Jo Yokley, Franklin, KY. COUNTRY MAGAZINE.

Cook grits according to package directions. Add cheese, butter and
garlic salt: stir until cheese and butter are melted. In a measuring
cup, beat egg: add milk to measure 1/2 cup. Stir into grits. Pour
    into a greased 1 1 1/2-quart baking dish. Bake, uncovered, at 350
degrees for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly around the edges. Sprinkle
with additional cheese if desired. Yield: 4-6 servings.

"My dad prepared this family favorite every Christmas morning. Grits
are a true Southern specialty. The garlic and cheese add a tasty
    touch."

Nothing weird about liking grits! I grew up in the north and never had
them until I was an adult, but now eat them regularly here in the south.

Especially with salted butter and freshly ground black pepper!

    Best way to have 'em!

I grew up mostly in the West/Southwest but was introduced to grits at an
early age. Friday I'll be able to go to the grocery store so I'll go
get myself grits then (realized I didn't have any).

If it's more towards lunch, I like to add a little granulated garlic and
    make em savory.

    Something like this:
