We're looking to possibly move up to something like a Ford F-150 size. Steve is debating upgrading the camper, wants something with a bit more tow power.
Since you guys have a pull behind cramper trailer you might want
to look into mid-sized SUVs. They haven't gone as zany with the
avaricious pricing.
But the truck is handy for a lot more things, including trips to
Lowe's or Home Depot.
Title: Wolfgang Puck's Mushroom Soup
Categories: Soups, Mushrooms, Dairy, Poultry, Citrus
Yield: 5 Servings
Looks good; I've had mushroom soup a few times but not home made. This might be something to try.
I did this recipe for my Easter Sunday brunch bunch (friends & fambly)
Title: Dirty Dave's Tempura Mushrooms
Categories: Five, Breads, Mushrooms, Appetisers
Yield: 7 Servings
5 tb A-P flour
3 c Aunt Jemima's Deluxe easy
- pour pancake batter mix *
Does it have to be pancake batter? Would something like a Bisquick
(We're using Kodiak Cakes mix.) mix work as well, made into a thin
batter?
** Beer may be used as well - but the flavour will
be changed.
We'd not use it, don't like the flavor.

My local Menard's (and I think system-wide) has full-size pickups for
rent at a *very* good price (U$25/4 hours) if you buy your building materials from them.

Sure thing. See recipe.

Both Lowe's and HD locally rent trucks; Steve used one once before we
got the truck. Our truck has a bed extender, don't know if theirs does
or not. One big plus of our truck is that we can carry more in it than
we could in the back of the Escape we had, including a dual fuel generator. We'll probably go for a back end cap with the next truck;
this one has a flat cover, useful but a cap will allow more versatility
in packing.

My local Lowe's does not offer truck rental. And Home Despot is next
town west so I dunno.
If you're going to put a topper on your pick-em-up you might as well
go for a similar sized SUV. The utility will be the same and the ride
and creature comforts better.
Study the fuel consumption rates *very* carefully. The "real word"
rates, not the EPA calculated rates. Diesel is more expensive than gasoline -
and you have to use DEF to keep the on-board computer and the EPA
happy.

We have both here in WF, fairly near each other. Don't know which was
here first as they were both here when we moved up from GA.

Sumo Springs make for a fairly comfortable ride. Also, I'd rather have
the propane in the truck bed than inside the vehicle with me. The truck allows for more versatility in hauling also.

That's all homework for Steve. (G)

Interesting but we'll have to pass. I'd have no trouble with polenta
but Steve would have major problems.

Probably Lowe's - their headquarters was North Wilkesboro, NC.
Currently they call Mooresville, NC home. They were founded in 1946.
Home Depot is head quartered in Atlanta, GA. And they're a "Johnny-come-lately" having started out in 1978.

I've only ever seen the propane located on the tongue of a pull along camper. My brother's 5th wheel unit had a vented compartment in the trailer - accessible only from outside. No need to carry flammables in
the vehicle.

In the end it will all come down to fuel mileage and maintenance
costs.

I picked that recipe for its "Burtoness". AFAIAC polenta is Italian
grits - and I don't do grits anyway. Not because if allergy - rather because I don't like them.
