Lion's Mane a couple of times when the tree we got it from produced
some huge ones. IIRC, the first one was over 7 pounds

They don't grow this far north; their favourite host is deciduous
hardwoods. In fact none of ever been spotted anywhere in Canada.
The closely related, similar looking bear's head mushroom can be
found in southern Ontario but not here.

    Cheers

    Jim

We found it on an oak (?) tree on our church's property. Steve took a
picture of it and showed it to the mushroom vendor at the farmer's
    market before he picked it.

Never heard of that one--does it look like a bear's head?
