    Hello together,

I would like to adjust the path of my MysticBBS from /home/mystic/mysticbbs
to /mysticbbs is this possible? If yes it is enough to call mystic -cfg and change the path there, what else do I have to consider? Except that I have to make a backup of my MysticBBS first.

    Best regards

    Alisha

This would likely work fine. What I would probably do myself is make a symbolic
link of your bbs to /mysticbbs first. Then change the paths. Then remove the symbolic link and copy the BBS over to /mysticbbs. But your method should work just as well. And as long as you have a backup you should be okay.

For what its worth, I have done similar but opposite on my BBS. I usually install it to /mystic and then copy it to my larger storage drive and make a symbolic link back to /mystic to keep from putting as much strain on my SSD.

Have you tried soft lining /home/mystic/mysticbbs to /mysticbbs?

.... "I am" is the shortest sentence in English. Is 'I do' the longest?

You should be able to copy the files to the new location (do not delete your old yet just in case something comes wrong), then open mystic -cfg and go into System Paths and change those to the new location.

You will also probably need to change paths in the Themes editor and also in your message bases (the storage path specifically).

In Unix it can be a little trickier with file permissions as well when you are operating outside of your home directory so keep that in mind.

I believe you would do this here:

cfg -> Configuration -> System Paths

Then just be sure to go into your file and message base configuration and then change things there.

Sounds about right, also make sure you change the paths in the event manager also..
