I'm trying to switch from Ubuntu 18.04 to Debian buster. How do I install dosemu? It's not in the buster repository. The 32 bit binary on the dosemu website won't run under my 64 bit install. I tried downloading the dosemu source and compiling it but it says glibc isn't installed which it is. Or at least some version of it is but I'm new to Debian and am clearly missing something.

Can I add the Debian 9 repository to my sources.list and install dosemu that way or will that cause problems? There has got to be an easier way of doing this. What would you guys suggest?

    Thanks

Debian Buster (10) unfortunately does not include the dosemu package any more, but there are reports of people installing the .deb package intended for
    Debian Stretch (9):

Although the package dependencies might cause problems for future updates (or perhaps dosemu runtime problems), it might be an alternative to not running dosemu at all.

In theory, a .deb package "really" for Debian Buster (10) could probably be built using the .dsc package for Debian Stretch (9) and the appropriate
    Debian package building tools.

I haven't tried any of this myself, but have been thinking of doing so to be able to run some old BBS doors etc...

    Best regards

I use Debian and I just downloaded dosemu from http://www.dosemu.org/stable/
I think I had to mess around and find a .deb that came with freedos already in dosemu.

For my Ubuntu install I had to add canonical partner and multiverse repositories.
