  • New contributor - Am I doing it right?

    Hello folks,

    I just wanted to make sure I'm doing this right. I've never contributed anything to a project using GitLab or GitHub and I attempted to submit a change via a Merge Request on GitLab. I see it in the queue but I also see the only other item in that same queue is 2 years old. If I've submitted it to the right place, I'll certainly sit back and let the normal process of things play out. Otherwise, please let me know where I should go with it. (item !295)

    You did it right, I think. I wasn't able to diff your changes in gitlab (the diffs were too large), so... I'm going a little bit on faith there, but I merged your MR in.

    I appreciate that faith considering I'm a first timer here (and with anything like this). When I update the other remaining question pools, they'll also be very large differences only because its 300-700 questions being pasted in. Thankfully, the format for each question in each subsection is the same and as long as the little {}'s lined up in Visual Code Studio, things were good. I tested the new pool several times by loading the hamest.js program and ensuring all 35 questions loaded. I'll get cracking on the other pools and I have some ideas kicking around to expanding the functions of the program to be more ham friendly (callsign look up, maybe some satellite info, potentially a DX cluster readout).

    Thank you for submitting the updates questions. It would be nice if they were published in a machine readable format so they can be grabbed and parsed automatically. I did look into it and understand what a chore it must have been. Thanks again.
