• Displaying a file with no pause

From Ib Joe@VERT/JOESBBS to All on Friday, January 20, 2023 09:47:55
A few weeks back I asked a question, DM answered, I think I part of his response. My goal is to display a long ANSI file.... From what I see @BPS:38400 will slow the presentation of the file down to look like it's 38400. On the no pause side of things POFF or @POFF doesn't seem to turn the pausing off.

I have run ANS2ASC to convert the file to its asc format..

    Thanx

Are you using the correct @-code syntax, i.e. @poff@ (all uppercase)?

The "pause" that's disabled with the POFF code is the auto "[Hit a key]" prompt that normally appears after each screenful. Are you referring to some other kind of pause?

That was it... I needed to at the @ to the end.

All @-codes need to begin and end with the '@' symbol: https://wiki.synchro.net/custom:atcodes

And there are plenty of examples use of @-codes in the text/* and text/menu/* files. Take a look-see.

    Now it displays the
complete file without me prompting it but its fast AF. To regulate the speed it's BPS:38400@??

There are multiple ways to control the rate of a display file. The BPS @-code only works with a supporting terminal (i.e. SyncTERM). Other methods include the DELAY and (new) LINEDELAY @-codes. You can also specify delays to insert (via Ctrl-A codes) for ANSI files converted to ASC or MSG with the ans2asc utility '-delay' option.

How do I list them... one after each other??

    How do you list what?
