Is there an easy way I may have missed to stop/suppress the "received
file 'foo'" notifications you get with qwk networking?
You're actually receiving a file named 'foo' or was that just a
placeholder? You shouldn't be getting those notifications unless someone is actually sending your QWKnet node files. --

Yes, I know. There's a particular qwk network that does sent a ton of files and the constant walls of notifications is becoming quite a push to consider potentially either dropping it, or moving handling of that net to a separate containerized instance at least as far as all the file traffic is concerned. I've tried taking a dig through configurations a few times over the years when it starts getting on my nerves to see if I could figure a way to not get the notifications, but have never managed to find such a setting. Figured I'd just ask in case there was something I've just overlooked. If not, no biggie and it's not a feature request or anything.

What are these files they're sending you? It seems unusal they'd be sending you files you didn't request and aren't part of a standard QWK packet archive.

It's League 10, they exchange all the IBBS door game files by just
dumping them back and forth in the qnet directories. They all get
processed by the various doors, but good grief does it generate walls of notifications.

Setting the ctrl/text.dat string ReceivedFileViaQWK to a blank string ("") will eliminate those notifications (for all users).

Yeah. I've carried it a few times through different incarnations of the board(s). It used to get a more activity than some other options just because it was a fairly newby friendly/centered thing to setup, but at
this point it doesn't seem that benefit is really there anymore.
There's other issues that periodically crop up with it enough that I've considered dropping it for some time. It's certainly not worth the fuss
of trying to get hooked in with FTN and trying to either avoid some of
the file spam from creating issues with my other nets or setting up a completely segregated mailer/directory for it... So if there's a way to
stop the notifications great, otherwise I think it might be time to let
it go.
