    Howdy,

I just noticed that avatars are workingin FTN fed echo areas - nice work :)

Thanks. :-) It was my intention all along, but I didn't consider that most sysops would only import SYNCDATA via one network technology (e.g. QWKnet) while seeing messages from those same systems/users on other network technologies (e.g. FTN) - so there was a gap there in the association between the 2 net-types and thus avatars weren't usually working on FTNs. It was pretty easy to fix but does require that systems update to SBBSecho v3.12 to see the benefit.

Now if only the author of Multimail could add avatar support, so I can see them. :)

You'd need access to the SBBSDATA echo as part of your multimail feed,
and it would need to keep a local database.

I do think a web service lookup would be a good idea for other clients
to integrate with. Though it might bloat the output, even having the
author avatar as a header in the qwk packet as an option for each
message or extension file might be an idea as well.

Well, the first part is easy, given that I would be accessing my BBS.

Sounds like it needs a bit of thought. I haven't looked into avatars at all yet, because for me they currently serve no practical purpose.
