• fossil implementation difficulty

Kinda an off the wall question with out much context. But given that what would the degree of difficulty be to implement fossil capabilities into a non-fossil BBS program. Like, say. Spitfire BBS.

^ if you had to guess. Again, I know w/ out seeing the SC one would really
    not know 100%.

Spitfire was program written in Borland's Turbo Pascal and interfaced
with assembler code compiled by Borland's Turbo Assembler.

    Thanks :)

... Oh, no. Borg taglines again :-).

the fossil "api" isn't incredibly complicated. it somewhat mirrors how the serial routines would work. i believe the filename is like "fossil.cht.txt"
or similar for a nice chart. you can probably get away with not implementing quite a bit of it nowadays .. for example baud changes for a virtual fossil driver probably always respond "success" .. and at some point they tacked on
a bunch of screen writing routines you wouldn't need to learn/use.

there's a very nice selection of example code in the SWAG archive here: http://swag.outpostbbs.net/COMM/index.html

It also saved England from the Nazi's. ;-)
