is that this TNC can be put into host-mode and then can have Telnet run over packet. I also have an MFJ-1270C (just need to build the interface cable) and a PK-232. Anyone else working on such a project or have any insight? ---

I'll be following your progress if you post it. I've always wanted to setup a packet system, but don't really know where to start.

I've heard people talk about it before, but I haven't seen it done yet. All of the BBSs I know that run over the air run on BPQ32: https://www.cantab.net/users/john.wiseman/Documents/BPQ32.html

I was poking around some of Synchronet's files and noticed a command shell(?) for packet systems. I was really intrigued by that. Perhaps someone has already made a packet BBS with Synch?

yet. All of the BBSs I know that run over the air run on BPQ32:
    https://www.cantab.net/users/john.wiseman/Documents/BPQ32.html

I didn't know there was a command shell out there for packet, but that makes perfect sense, I'm guessing it is a 3rd party one? That would take a ton of work out of making a minimalistic one from scratch, and would make it pretty easy to spin up.

This comes up from time to time, patricularly on the Synchronet Sysops echo, and I'm fairly certain even Digital Man said he is not aware of anyone running SBBS on packet. DM himself is a ham radio operator, and I think just got back from Dayton as well.

Also, not trying to discourage anyone from tring this, I just don't know of anyone doing it - BPQ32 was (and I'm guessing still is) a PITA to setup
and has a steep learning curve, but it's what "everyone" uses to my knowlege. ---------------------------------------------------------
