    Hello Gamers,

Today I upgraded the servers that host CombatNet and EWBBS. Both VPS'
now have a 2.4 Ghz CPU, 2G of RAM, and 50GB of storage space. I would have liked to have upgraded to 2 CPU Cores but as they say, 'those
frills cost money!' This upgrade should increase preformance and lessen the changes of any DOOR having to swap out to disk space. It will also lessen the chance of the server running out of disk space as it did a
few weeks ago when a newly installed program went haywire.

Is your platform on heavy metal .. , micro metal, or virtual?

It's a virtual server located on Digital Ocean. I have had real good luck with them. I used to use Vultr, but DO has much better uptime.

It's a virtual server located on Digital Ocean. I have had real good
luck with them. I used to use Vultr, but DO has much better uptime.

I've been using azure, and aws, .. mostly azure though, or my own equipment.

Certain things I like to have azure, or something outside of my equipment.

I did have a system with a dynamic IP on azure running ... until about 3 months ago, and although the IP wasn't dedicated, it never changed, uptime was really really good after a couple complaints. At the time I instantiated it, they did not have their services and infrastructure as defined as it is today, so they rebooted my system a few times. They said because I wasn't accessing it, that per-policy they can reboot it, or some mumbo jumbo, but as soon as I showed them logs of me accessing it, they left it alone for 3-4 years. It was working well until I couldn't get updates anymore. That system was a ubuntu 2015 system.

Today I have a couple of newer systems in azure, and they are rock solid for what I'm doing.

I want to check out some other providers though. I want to find one in Russia that doesn't hand data over 3rd parties, but ... I'm also a bit paranoid so I haven't looked all that hard, or come to terms with how I can avoid trust issues, or mitigate them.
