• Marking a node as black balled

From Vincent Coen@2:250/1 to All on Sunday, May 15, 2022 19:39:34
    Hello All!

Is there a way within mbse of setting a specific node address to be totally ignore just as soon as its address line is received ?

Why, I have a node in Switzerland who polls every minute of all hours and some time twice at the same time with a bad password.

Now I did set on, every debug setting for almost everything to try and show the
password being used but to no avail - but I am sure that there was a setting to
get passwords used displayed if the did not match.
Cannot find it now with v1.0.8.

As I gave up on that great idea I have removed the node from my set up but of course that has not made any difference and is still giving the error code 121.

It does show in error.log as :

02-May-2022 17:15:36 mbcico[2192699] Binkp: TCP rcv error, tty status: Error

and this appear every minute :(

If they always call from the same IP address, just configure your firewall to reject connections from that IP.

Try disabling MD5 for that node; otherwise the password is never sent in the clear.

cracked, in 1.14.16 as it is a all setting, not avail for a node via 7.
    Thanks,
