Hello Everybody,
Correcting a bit of misinformation by Sean Dennis, starting
with his description of what he calls this echo, from his list
of "rules" -
This is the National Cooking Echo. It is a non-region specific
conference dedicated to all persons interested in cooking and/or food
related topics. The National Cooking Echo may not be gated without the moderator's permission.
Interesting. A Fidonet general chat echo dedicated to cooking being
claimed as the "National Cooking Echo" - presumably for the USA.
Of course, there's more -
The sister echo to COOKING is HOME_COOKING. HOME_COOKING has no
limitations on the amount of recipes posted at a single time unlike
COOKING.
That's right. Like Lay's potato chips, Sean Dennis can never have
only one (for the USA, as always).
Takes an active imagination to imagine oneself as being a fidogod.
A fidogo with the ability to be "moderator" of any and all echoes
of his own mind. But that's okay. We all have our own delusions.
But most of us do not make them public.
FYI: from what Michael told me, even though the name of the echo
is the "National Cooking Echo", it's always had an international SD>audience.
This is not about Michael Loo. The name of this echo is whatever
sysops want to call it, as it is a general chat echo dedicated to
cooking. It is an international echo, not specific to any zone.
Here is more of Sean Dennis' misinformation, straight from his own
list of "rules" -
14. This echo does not recognize any local or regional echomail
policies such as EP1. This echo originates in Zone 1 and follows
Zone 1 policies concerning the "echolist".
As can plainly be seen, Sean Dennis contradicts himself with his own
list of "rules". What more need be said?
This is a general chat echo dedicated to cooking. It is not a zone
specific echo of any kind, as per Sean Dennis' claim. It's origin is
Fidonet, which consists of four zones at present. No single zone has
any right to claim it as their own. Especially since the "zone wars"
were put to pasture years ago.
To repeat -
This echo originates in Fidonet, not any specific zone of Fidonet.
And it most certainly does not comply with "Zone 1 policies concerning
the `echolist'", as Fidonet does not have any official private elist/
echolist.
I do hope I have made myself clear.
This is a general chat echo dedicated to cooking in which participants
from all zones are welcome. That certainly makes this an international
echo, contrary to Sean Dennis' claim.
Sysops are free to call the name of this echo anything they want.
Cooking is a generic name, denoting the obvious. The same applies
to this echo's so-called "sister" echo.
Participants own the echo, not any self-appointed "moderator" who
lists a bunch of "rules" that not even he is willing or able to follow.
Also, I may be a bit crazy but I don't feel the need to make up a strawman to express my opinions as I am secure enough in my manhood to express my opinions and stand behind them right or wrong. <G>
Strange little man of little or no self-esteem. Gets all bent out
of shape knowing he does not have an argument that stands on its own.
From Sean Dennis' own list of "rules" -
4. DON'T get personal! Personal attacks (flames) and profanity are
unwelcome in this conference and will not be tolerated.
Let's see Sean Dennis live up to his own "rules" - if he can.
For Life,
Lee
