And the latest new thing, air fryers, don't tempt me at all.

For us, the Air Fryer and the Toaster Oven are the most used appliances
in our current kitchen. Both are good for heating up left overs where
you want to restore crispness that a microwave would destroy. Since
most of our meals are in the restaurants here, we don't use either one
as much as we used to. During Covid, the restaurants were closed and
food was delivered to the shelves outside the door. Some folks
probably just stuck the container with the protein, and two sides into
the microwave. Gail was much more creative about how to heat up the
foods according to what was best for each type.
Before we moved here, the air fryer was also in frequent use so as to produce items with crispness but without frying in oil. It worked
quite well there.

As I told Nanook, I have both the countertop convection/toaster oven
as well as the more usual 3 liter sized "air fryer". I use both on a fairly regular schedule - else they'd be gone to the ReStore because
my counter and storage space is limited.
And, as I also told him - some things just need to be deep fried in
hot oil. Bv)=

We use ours sometimes... It's part of my instant pot duo crisp so It doesn't take up more room. ;) It does come in handy for crispy food without a lot of oil or the stink of heating up fry oil etc.

I have a BIG toaster oven that I don't use...no space for it. When I
can, I'm going to get a smaller one. My sister has sang her praises
about her air fryer to me and it's on the list to get.
I threw some chicken breasts in the slow cooker on high before church
and when I got home (about 2 1/2 hours later), I had a very nice
dinner. Going to be using the slow cooker a lot more!

Yes, definitely yes. :D

Is everything working well for you now?

My toaster oven/air fryer is "medium sized" and serves as storage space when not in use to cook stuff. And a word of warning on the regular air fryer .... they take some getting used to.
Just a few quibbles .... I have yet to finger out how to upload a
packet via the web site. Downloading is fine. But uploading leaves me twisting in the breeze. I tried "drag & drop" for no result .... and finally went to my regular term program for the upsend.
The other one involves the Scrabble door. When logged in via telnet it yanks me back to a log-in to the BBS screen and I have to re-enter my credentials (in green screen) whereupon everything returns to the usual colours and I have to navigate back to the Scrabble where I am allowed
to play my turn. BTW - it's now YOUR turn again.
This is going to be my 4th of July supper - stuffed/mounded in half of
a cantaloupe. (If you don't have your china clippers yet you may want
to omit the diced celery I put in there for crunch. It's had on the
gums. Bv)=

I've heard a lot of good things about them so I'd be willing to learn their quirks.

This is easy: click on the "menu" button in the lower-left corner of
the fTelnet frame and select "Upload". :D I took a screenshot and
emailed it to you.

Okay, hmm. Is the "login screen" as if you are getting kicked out of
the BBS? I'm wondering if there is an issue with ANSI graphics
detection. You're using Syncterm for telnet, am I right?

Looks good! I wimped out and just bought a cheap frozen pizza I know I can chew...

Nope. I'm using HyperTerm .... mostly due to the having to answer "Y"
to the "is it really you" question. I can configure my log-in macro
easily in Hyper but haven't yet discovered a way in Synch.
