Since Steak 'n' Shake has gone to a "quick-serve" model and done away
with waitress/tale service they are about on a par with Ferdies. I
don't patronise either. Although I have been told that the local (and first francisee) is mulling telling the current bean sorters about
where the sun never shines and going back to the original S&S model and dancing with who brought them this far. They'll have to change the name and get new menus printed - but if they do that I'll likely go back to eating there almost every day.

I wouldn't blame them for doing so. Change is not always a good thing, i.e. New Coke...

I remember when Burpsie Cola introduced Pepsi One - a new diet cola that
tasted like *real* (old-style) Coca Cola. I was working part-time in a C-store/gas station and we couldn't keep in in stock, nor get the route
man to leave a bigger supply. Then one day they began promoting the
stuff ..... but, they had reformulated it to be tooth-achingly sweet
and taste nothing like real Coke. And the market spoke - LOUDLY! After
a few years it was dropped completely from their product line. Bv)=

    and mix together.

Put seared roast in roasting pan and spread the Golden
Mushroom soup over the top (do not dillute). Place lid
    on roasting pan.

Bake for 5 hours. Your home will smell wonderful all day
    while this slow cooking.

The liquids/drippings from this roast makes a wonderful
gravy to pour over homemade egg noodles!!
